ROB

Rob has been playing drums since the age of eleven, under the instruction of Joe Nevolo. He was the Drum Captain of the award winning 2002 Ocean Twp. High School Drum Line, and also completed a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Music at Rutgers University. Aside from playing in jazz band, concert band, marching band, percussion ensembles, and pit orchestra, Rob has enjoyed playing in many local bands since the age of sixteen. He currently plays in the up and coming Pop Rock band Vextion!

KELLIE

Kellie has been teaching Voice and Piano lessons with Big Beat since April of 2009. She graduated from Monmouth University with a degree in Vocal Performance and minor in Theatre. She started taking vocal lessons at a young age and still to this day studies privately with her own teacher.  She incorporates learning the proper vocal techniques, exercise for stretching and expanding the voice, music theory, and performance practice into each and every lesson. She has students of every age and every level of singing. She plans on achieving her Masters of Music in Music Education, and hopes to one day teach young adults in a college atmosphere to inspire those in the ways her mentors have for her throughout her life.

BRIAN

Brian has been teaching and performing music throughout the tri-state area since the age of 18. He began by taking Viola lessons at the age of 9 and guitar lessons beginning at the age of 14. He had musical training at Mannes College of Music in NYC, Buffalo State College in NY, American Institute of Guitar in NYC and the New School for Social Research in NYC. His primary style of playing is Classical/Finger-style playing, but he is well-versed in all areas. Brian is one of the most respected, and highly sought-after teachers in central NJ.

PAUL

Paul is a talented pianist who has been teaching for eight years. He has worked for Music Together for three and a half years training children as well as parents on rhythm and music. Paul exhibits a passion for creativity when interacting with his students. Paul also plays at the 5th Avenue Chapel for youth group and Sunday School kids. In all aspects Paul physically and mentally embraces the expression, “Taking it to a higher level!”

GERRY

“Ever since I was fifteen years old, music has been electric in my soul.” Then he discovered the guitar. This instrument, the guitar, to this day has been a major part of his very productive and focused life and career. Over the last fourteen years, ten years of which he’s taught at Big Beat, he has been fortunate to pass on the benefits of his college education, private instruction, and touring throughout the world to meet the goals of thousands of students. Whether you aspire to forge your playing to the next level, strengthen musical knowledge skills, or introduce yourself or your child to the excitement of learning the instrument, under his instruction, students will receive the highest quality tutoring. From rock, jazz fusion, and classical to music theory and playing discipline, your musical experience will be geared towards accomplishment.

NIJOLE

Nijole’s objective is to offer the skills she has achieved through teaching and performing as an orchestra’s artist in the classical music industry. She was educated at the Kaunas J. Naujalis School of Arts and the State Conservatoire of Lithuania, with a degree in violin performance and teaching. Nijole has served as a full time orchestra violinst and has performed in many countries such as Austria, Belorussia, Estonia, Italy, Holland, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, and Switzerland. She has also performed with famous world musicians such as Violeta Urmana, Olga Getz and P. Berman. Nijole has participated in 5 festivals “From J.S. Bach to Barok” in Italy and has performed in “BALTIC VIRTUOSE” orchestra with conductor G. Dalinkevicius. As a certified teacher from the Kaunas J. Naujalis School of Arts, Nijole is qualified to teach violin, viola, and piano.
