Neptune City Drummer to Perform At 50th Woodstock Celebration

Bethel Woods, NY, is the location where it all happened 50 years ago, the most talked about music event in history: Woodstock.

On Aug. 16 to 18 legendary acts Ringo Starr, Santana, John Fogerty, Tedeschi Trucks, The Doobie Brothers, Grace Potter and more will celebrate that remarkable time at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in upstate New York.

Performing at the celebration will be Neptune City drummer Joe Nevolo who owns Big Beat Music Studio in Neptune City. He will perform alongside these music icons with Jesse Kinch.

Kinch was the 2014 winner of ABC's Rising Star competition hosted by Josh Grobin and judged by Ke$ha, Brad Paisley, and Ludacris.

“This is such an honor for me to be part of a show so significant to the history of

music,” Nevolo said in a recent interview.

He and the Jesse Kinch band recently returned from a tour in England promoting Kinch’s debut album “I’m Not Like Everybody Else”.

Nevolo’s passion for music began early in life as he began giving drum lessons when he was just 13 years old. He later performed locally and nationally receiving recognition as a phenomenal drummer along the way.

As a world renowned drummer, he has played with Shadow Gallery (on Inside Out Label), Mahogany Rush (opened for Aerosmith), Jesse Bolt (managed by Led Zeppelin’s promoters, opened up for Kiss), The Good Rats (Warner Bros, opened for Rush), Phantom’s Opera (consisted of members from Bon Jovi’s band) and over 100 more.

Nevolo and and his musical staff have been teaching students from the area since 1983. He said he is as passionate about his teaching as he is about performing.
