Fall is right around the corner, and September is coming to an end. School is in full swing and that’s why now is the perfect time for a quick History Lesson!
Did you know that Big Beat Studio School of Music has been around Since 1983?
The School was founded by drummer Joe Nevolo who studied under his father and also the likes of Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Rod Stewart). Over the years Joe has played with over 200 bands including Phantom’s Opera, Greg Howe, Shadow Gallery, and was even a Finalist for Kiss! Joe decided that he wanted to share knowledge and experience and opened Big Beat Studio School of Music in 1983.
Since ’83, Big Beat has been featured in many news outlets and publications including Modern Drummer Magazine, The Asbury Park Press, Cablevision, The Coaster, The Rock Rag, News 12 New Jersey and more!! These outlets have showcased the school’s consistent ability to teach both students with special needs as well as bring in younger students with open arms. Many of these students have grown up to go on to play with Major National Acts and/or be featured on Network Television!
The longevity and success of Big Beat stems from it’s talented teachers as well as the amazing students. Next year the school will be celebrating it’s 35th Anniversary!!
Thank you to everyone who has supported Big Beat over the years, and hopefully for many more years to come. And of course…..Always remember to….. “Keep on Jammin’!”
